This is a course on the economics of climate, climate change, and climate policy.

Chapter 1 reviews the science of climate change. Chapter 2 discusses sources of and scenarios for greenhouse gas emissions, and options for emission reduction. Chapter 3 turns to the costs of emission reduction, and Chapter 4 to policy instruments for emission reduction. Chapter 5 is an interlude on economic valuation of goods and services not traded on markets. Chapter 6 treats the economic impact of climate change. Chapter 7 discusses the relationship between climate (change) and development. Chapter 8 is on optimal climate policy. Chapter 9 discusses the effect of aggregation (over time, over people, and over possible states of the world) on optimal climate policy. Chapter 10 revisits optimal climate policy again, now in the context of uncertainty and learning. Chapter 11 discusses non-cooperative climate policy. Chapter 12 is on adaptation and adaptation policy.
