This course explores how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the landscape of international relations (IR), using a combination of theoretical and practice-based knowledge and experiences through an interdisciplinary and participatory approach. The emphasis is on various key topics: conflict and war, diplomacy and negotiation, economic and trade relations, multilateralism and cooperation, regional integration and development. It examines governance frameworks for AI, its strategic deployment by global actors, and the profound effects it has on diplomacy, defense, economics, and global power dynamics. Ethical, legal, and security challenges posed by AI are also addressed, as well as the need for global cooperation to ensure responsible and equitable development.
