Περιγραφή Μαθήματος

The course is aimed at Political Science and History students who have a minimum of CEFR B2 Level of English and wish to imrpove their command of the language within the context of their field of study. Key features of the course include:

• general academic and subject specific vocabulary building
• developing effective reading comprehension strategies
• identifying discourse structure in paragraphs and scientific research articles
• improving style in academic writing
• preparing and delivering oral presentations

The topics covered include: the subject matter of Political Science, citizens and the state, representative and participatory democracy, democratisation and hybrid regimes, electoral systems and voting behaviour, international relations, an introduction to historical studies, issues of historical research methods and practice.
