Περιγραφή Μαθήματος

The course is aimed at Political Science and History students who have a minimum of CEFR B2 Level of English and wish to improve their command of the language within the context of their field of study. Key features of the course include:

• general academic and subject-specific vocabulary building
• identifying discourse structure in paragraphs and scientific research articles
• summary writing
• giving presentations

The theme of the course is 'Language and Politics' and the topics covered include: Language and Thought, Language and National Identity, Political Correctness, Language Standardisation and Global English, Linguistic Features of Political Discourse.
