Some info regarding the Final Exam as many of you are asking me about it....although I have clearly explained its structure in class.

The Exam will last 90 minutes...It will begin at 17:05 sharp (you need to be in the classroom earlier in order to be prepared) and will end at 18:35 sharp.

The exam is meant to test both your knowledge of the key issues and themes related to Russian domestic and foreign policy as well as your critical thinking.

• Each answer should be at least one and a half page long in order to be considered for a high score provided it reflects both critical thinking and knowledge of the course material.
• You will need to answer TWO questions in total. Choose One from Part I (pertaining to everthing taught up until the midterm) and One from Part II (pertaining to everything taught since the midterm).
• Your answers in the Bonus questions (8 multiple choice questions for a total of a maximum 2 points) will only be taken into consideration if you have answered both Parts A and B.
• You have to return the exam questions together with your answers

Tomorrow is the Midterm Exam for the course. It will be held in the regular classroom for the course. The Exam will last 1hour and 20 minutes (maximum).

It will comprise of 5 question, of which you have to answer 2. Exam Papers will be provided by the instructor.

You have all been assigned into a Group -- either Midterm Group I or Midterm Group 2 -- Please check the relevant Group you are in the Groups section of this platform.

Those in Midterm Group 1 will be examined between 09:05 and 10:25

Those in Midterm Group 2 will be examined between 10:35 and 11:55

Please be in the classroom on time....You will be allowed to have only your pen and ID card with you when you take the exam. Everything else -- backpacks, mobile phones, coats, etc -- should be left in front of the classroom by the instructor....You can pick these items up once you turn in your exam.

The date of the Midterm exam for the Class will be on Tuesday, 25 November (instead of Tuesday, 18 November as originally planned).

The exam will start at 09:10 sharp and will run until 10:40. Please be in class on time at 09:00 so that we can start on time. After the exam there will be a small break until 11:50 and then I will hold regular class until 12 noon.

The midterm material is everything that will have been covered in class until that date...

On Tuesday, 19 and Wednesday, 20 November, the Institute of International Relations will be holding the Annual Athens Security Forum at the Hellenic Armed Officers' Club in downtown Athens. I urge all of you to register and attend the meeting as this event is meant to enhance the knowledge of our students in the Department of Internationa, European and Area Studies in major developements in International Security. Since the Athens Security Forum starts at 11:00 next Tuesday, 19 November, there will be no class on that day.

The Final Exam will run on 20 February at 10:20 and will end at 10:50 (not 11:10) as its duration is 30 minutes. It will be composed of 20 multiple choice questions with four choices for each question and only one correct answer.

Dear All,
As you are aware, due to the circumstances of the last few weeks, your final exam will be conducted via the open e-clas platform in which everyone must be registered, as you were informed at the beginning of the semester.

On Tuesday, 20 February at 10:20 the application will open automatically and you will be able to enter. You will go to the menu on the left of the page and select "Exercises". There you will find the multiple choice exam. Fill it out carefully and then submit it. Be careful not to make a mistake in the submission process because nothing can be undone once your exam has been submitted!!!

Don't try to cheat or copy. Each and every one of you will have a different set of questions. You have 30 minutes to answer 20 questions. Please answer all questions. There is only one correct answer for each question.

At 11.10 the platform will close automatically.

The exams are corrected automatically (on the basis of an exam key I have inputed) by the system without my intervention.
The questions are relatively straightforward and easy. They are based on the lectures and the assigned course materiel.

UPDATE ON THE FINAL EXAM

Dear All,

I still have no update as to when the Final Exam for the class will be held. Hopefully, a new exam schedule will be announced soon which will probably include exams to be held on weekends.

I have an update though on how the exam will be conducted. For reasons of efficiency and to ensure that the exam will be held before the start of the new semester, it will be conducted on the online Eclass platform in the form of 20 multiple choice questions which you will have to answer in a limited time span (30-40 minutes).

As you may be aware, the Final Exam for the class that had been scheduled to be held tomorrow, Wednesday, 7 February has been postponed and will be rescheduled at a later date.

As you know the Final Exam for the class is scheduled for Wednesday, 7 February. I still cannot confirm whether it will take place on time or whether it will be rescheduled as the Rectorate and the University Board will take a decision on this. This decision is probably to be taken on Tuesday, 6 February.

A decision also has to be taken as to whether the exam can be held on line.

Thus as things stand today, the exam will be on the 7th in person as scheduled.

Thus as things stand today, the exam will be on the 7th in person as scheduled.

For those that cannot be here because you had to return to your home universities, I will schedule an online exam at a day and time when exams are allowed to be held. I have been advised not to hold exams, even online ones, at a time when the exams have been suspended.

Dear All,

As I have announced in class, the midterm exam for this class will be held on Tuesday, 21 November. It will be an inclass exam held during class hours. As there are many of you registered for the class, I have divided you into two groups on this platform.

The first group will take the exam between 09:15 and 10:30....while the second group will take the exam between 10:45 and 12:00...The Panteion University students that are currently abroad on their Erasmus semester of doing an intership abroad (I will verify with the Secretariat) that choose to take the exam will have to notify me.

The exam will be in English....no exceptions.

Dear All,

I have added the couse syllabus in the Documents section of the eclass platform for the course (Russia: Domestic Politics and Foreign Policy)....I have ordered the textbooks from the library and will notify you when the library will receive them...Irrespective of the reccomended books for the course, the syllabus contains a number of academic journal articles which are all available for you to study. I will be enriching the syllabus with new articles periodically when and if I encounter some that might be useful. If you come to class regularly and take notes during the lectures and read some of the recommended articles, you will have a pretty comprehensive overview of the course content.
